Moving involves a lot of headaches because there are just a lot things to do. So more than anything, it demands time and money. You therefore need to do things systematically.

Sort and Discard Your Things

With all the things you've accumulated through the years, it would take forever to finish packing everything. What you should do instead is sort your things and segregate the things you will no longer use. You can throw them away or you can even give them to people who wants them. You can also sell them to raise some money.

Prepare Packing Materials

Before you start packing make sure you have enough packing materials from boxes, markers, tapes, newsprints, bubble wraps and other stuff. This would make the process faster and smoother. To save money you can ask for used boxes from grocery stores. There are even websites that give free moving boxes as well. You can also buy some secondhand moving boxes too.

Just make sure you use the right type of boxes for every type of item. Put enough cushion too especially when packing fragile items. Seal the boxes properly so boxes won't tear open during loading and transportation. It's also important that you label the boxes. First, the label should indicate which room it would go. It should indicate the contents too. It would even be better if you indicate the priority of unpacking as well. This would make it easier for you to unpack your stuff later. Even if you do everything yourself, everything can be done smoothly. You will even end up saving time and money.
