How to Move with Fish
Published on Monday, 28 December 2009 Moving with a fish is a very challenging task. Here is a discussion on some of the factors to be taken cared of whilst moving with a fish. * Place the fish in a Styrofoam lined box. Make sure that the box is not overcrowded with these species. Utmost care is required in this endeavour. * To protect the fish in case of damage to the container, place its container in a plastic trash bag. To ensure safety, consider placing one trash bag into another bag. * Whilst transferring the fish into a Styrofoam box, use the water that is already being utilised in the aquarium. However, do not disturb the water as the waste material at the bottom of the tank will contaminate the clean top layer of water. Save the remaining unused water in a container and use them to setup the aquarium at the new place. Gradually, introduce water from new location into the aquarium to permit the fish of being accustomed to changes. * Fill the box with water only up to half length. This is to allow enough space for air to enter into the box. It is also essential to remove the lid of the container in the midst of the journey for circulation of fresh air. * Stop feeding the fish at least two days before the moving day. This is to make the water fresh whilst you move. Lastly, place all the inclusions of the aquarium such as pebbles and plants in a separate container. Make sure to pack the aquarium perfectly to avoid any damage.
